Often described as "luminous", they are quite possibly the most unique photo-realistic watercolor paintings on the planet.

This is simply because I invented my own technique. No one else paints this way. 

 

My major works express the affinity and kinship I had with the aina (land) when I lived off-grid in Kona.​​

I was so blessed to experience these delights that caressed all the senses:​​​​​​ the beauty of rare, exotic flowers​; the warm, sweetly-scented air​; the soft, feathery ocean breezes; fruit growing wild + unattended​​.

​All of my Hawaii paintings are deeply personal. Most of the subject matter grew on my property in Kona, or just down the road, as in Zen Bamboo.

​​Having lived in the islands for over 20 years, I can tell you...it is paradise.​​ Sonoma Valley, too, has its own version of paradise, Northern California, wine-country style!
