A heartfelt welcome to my website, Hawaii Vivid Watercolors!! 

 

Often described as "luminous", my watercolor paintings are a vivid mosaic of color with incredibly lucid detail.

 

They are quite possibly the most unique photo-realistic watercolor paintings on the planet.

 

Since I invented my own style from scratch, no one else uses this technique.

My major works express the affinity and kinship I had with the aina (land) when I lived in Kona.​​​​​ 

 

I was so blessed to experience these delights that caressed all the senses:​​​​

​the beauty of rare, exotic flowers​; the warm, sweetly-scented air​; the soft, feathery ocean breezes; fruit growing wild + unattended​​.
 

Every painting of Hawaii is deeply personal; 95% of the subject matter grew on my property in Kona, or just down the road (as in Zen Bamboo).​

Having lived in the islands for over 20 years, I can tell you...it was paradise.​​Sonoma Valley, too, had its own version of paradise, Northern California style!
