About Ornamental Banana
A grove of this rare tropical plant greeted me as I walked out my front door in Kainaliu, Kona.
 
Bred solely for their blossom, they are native to the eastern Himalayas. As we locals would say, "Lucky you live Hawaii!"
 
The flowers grow on a single stalk up to 6' high. The leaves sprout from single stalks up to 15' high.
