PROTOTYPE DESIGN
Resin prototypes that I hand-painted with acrylic paints for production in Asia
When I worked for Willits Designs and Hamilton Collection, my titles were Paintmaster Painter and Senior Color Consultant. This was a dream job ~ getting paid to paint!

I hand-painted the prototypes of resin figurines that were to be photographed for the catalog and sent to the factory in Asia to be hand-copied and sold commercially.

My subject matter ran the gamut ~ the Borg, Jesus, little piggies, baby fairies, carousel horses, and a line called Ebony Visions, portraying the beauty, culture and dignity of African-Americans.

Voila! The Vintage Merry-Go-Round
My favorite job ever was as a Product Developer for Hearth Song, developing European-style wooden toys, craft kits and outdoor products for kids.

I was the lead developer for the above wooden merry-go-round. This design was inspired by a vintage version that one of my co-workers had from when he was a child.
I was also the laison between our company and U.S. Customs.

Think the movie 'Big'. I played with and designed toys for a living!
TEXTILE DESIGN
Fabric
I traced and painted the fabric design
My studies at a Berkeley textile design school helped train my eye to match color with hairline accuracy.
The assignment was to trace and paint the fabric design on art paper with water-based gouache paints.

The masking tape on the fabric was used to create a margin.

I had been painting watercolors for quite some time. I was fluent in accurately mixing different colors from tubes of pigment (paint) to achieve the desired colors.
By combining these diverse facets of my creativity:

graphic + web design
prototype + product design
photography + photo editing
copywriting
textile design

...I produced Giclée canvas prints + Art merch with images of my original watercolor paintings printed on them.

The entire scope of this endeavor has been wonderful and happy making!
